My first (and highly-anticipated) mentoring session with Ashley of Mudgoddess Photography took place in January, on a bitter cold afternoon. I am very grateful that these new parents were willing to brave the Cincinnati chill with their newborn to help us out. Once inside, we quickly forgot about the weather as we got to work and focused in on that sweet baby girl. It was a frigid Saturday morning in early January when I made my way across town to meet Grace. As I entered the home, I was greeted with hot coffee, a flood of sunshine through the windows and the cheery mood that naturally fills a home when a newborn has arrived.
Today was a difficult day. It started when we encountered slick roads on our morning commute followed by a flat tire half-way to school. As the kids and I sat in the warm car waiting for my husband to come change the tire, I noticed the oversized snowflakes that were slowly falling.
